French Vanilla Ice-cream Sundae

Here is the next one which I prepared with the homemade French vanilla ice-cream.....Well there is no fixed name of this recipe, you can call it Malini's special ice-cream sundae.....or you can even transform this into your own special dish as per your choice of toppings...........

Ingredients:
Procedure:
  1. Just place 2-4 scoops of ice-cream in a serving plate. Place the chocolate bars / wafers.
  2. Add chocolate syrup. Crumble cookies over the ice-cream and serve immediately.

Kashikeyo Baipen (Screwpine fruit Porridge)

I know I posted this a long time ago but I took some of my old posts out due to some comments I got but then again , I realized  different people make their recipes differently, so why bother what people say. Anyway, the first time I heard of this recipe was from my husband. We had just been married and living in Kulhudhufushi as my husband was working there for 6 months.  I love screwpine fruit and its heady perfume. So there I was making, or rather trying to make, kashikeyo kandhi and hubby kept hovering around, going that's not how my mum used to make. Yes I know ladies,  there are lots of new weds, who read this who have heard this line LOL??. Anyway , a few years later,  I finally tasted the  dish , which by the way was a totally different  dish altogether, so my hubby was right???? .   My mum in law  showed me how to make  it and I love making this, especially during Ramadhan, as its not just a desert dish , it can even be eating...

Banbukeyo Hithi ( Breadfruit Curry)

For ages I kept meaning to try one of the Hithi recipes. Hithi means bitter but this is not a bitter curry. Its called hith i because its uses a spice known locally as hithi damui . My mum kept saying its difficult getting hithi damui you can only get it from the local ayuvedhi stalls until my sister discovered after seeing the spice that it was in fact ajwain/ carom seeds . I have seen ajwain seeds in a local shop and also in some of the Indian specialty shops. Ajwain seeds although it looks a lot like tiny cumin seeds  has a slightly different taste. There  are two kinds of hithi , one is this banbukeyo ( breadfruit )  hithi and the other is maalhoskeyo hithi ( plaintain).
