Sausage

Here in this land we can't buy all the familiar foods of home.  But we can buy pork.  It's the everyday meat here, with beef costing 2 or 3 times as much.  This basic sausage recipe is from the Meals Around the World cookbook, and has a similar flavor to farmer's sausage.  Of course if you want to add spices, go right ahead.  This is the basic version.  Use it to make patties to fry or grill, or fry and crumble to use in soup, gravy, pizza or breakfast casserole.  One of my favorite soups to add it to is Cheeseburger Soup.

1 lb. ground pork
2 tsp. Tender Quick
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. liquid smoke

Mix thoroughly and fry in patties or crumbled.
